Working on it

Hmm...writing a decent description about my dimmer is taking longer than I expected. I am working on it, but it could take a while. I have a few photos I might post soon (including some infrared photos I took with the thermal camera we have at work), but the full write up might take a while. And I don't expect most people to read the whole thing as it could end up quite a long "article", and get a bit technical.

Ok, here is a very early version:

My Dimmer

There's not a lot of text there yet, and I don't expect most people to understand it anyway as I haven't yet explained what I'm talking about when I mention things like chokes and snubbers/snubber resistors. But there are some nice photos there (and apologies to anyone with dial-up).

I read it. Blogging shouldn't be something one is pushed into though.

There are thousands and thousands of blogs, and only that if not less readers. One should only 'blog' if one wants to.

yeah, 3-phase is cool. i've been working on a 1,200kVA (1.2MVA) unit at work today. now THAT's a lot of power...hehe

the sockets are meant to be crooked, so that the tail of the piggyback doesn't hit adjacent plugs. the specific angle of the sockets is very deliberate.

I'm not sure what your definition of pain is, but I could help you understand mine.

And unfortunately Orby, I am yet to find a way tyo edit posts which is annoying, sort of deleting them and just starting again.

I know. I wish I could edit posts. I never spell check 'em cause I make so many posts every day, but only cause I rarely do typos.
